On Thursday 25th June several members of our community went to join the parish at Shrewsbury for their feast of the finding of the relics of St Milburga.
We joined them for matins and the Divine Liturgy at their historic church dedicated to the 318 Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council, in Sutton, Shrewsbury. This is a very ancient temple building, founded by St Milburga when she was Abbess of the monastery in nearby Much Wenlock, in the early 8th century.

After the Liturgy, Sister Theovouli, an Orthodox nun and iconographer living and working in Shrewsbury, gave a short talk explaining the icon of St Milburga she has painted, with scenes from the life of the saint around the edge.
It was a privilege and blessing to make this short pilgrimage to another parish to share our common life in Christ and build bridges of fellowship.

Glory to God!
